Armor

Overview

Fallout 76 has three main armor types: underarmor, which is worn beneath your main armor; regular armor sets, which are equipped under your outfit or clothing; and power armor, which functions as a full mechanical suit.

Underarmor

Underarmor is worn beneath standard armor and provides base damage resistance plus lining bonuses. Each piece supports multiple lining families with four tiers each. Unlock methods vary by item: crafting plans, vendor purchases, event rewards, and camp drops.

Armor

Standard armor pieces are worn over underarmor and come in sets including combat, leather, metal, raider, wood, and several faction variants. Each set covers chest, left arm, right arm, left leg, and right leg slots. Mods add resistances, carry weight, and special effects.

Power Armor

Power armor frames provide heavy protection and require fusion cores to operate. Sets include T-45, T-51b, T-60, X-01, Ultracite, and various event and faction variants. Each chassis covers helmet, torso, left arm, right arm, left leg, and right leg. Mods range from jet packs to targeting HUDs.
